The association
Nobody teaches you how to manage your adult life. We’ve got it covered.
FoundHow is a student association that decodes French red tape. A non-profit, created by students at Montpellier Management. We struggled with the same forms you do, and we write what we wish we’d had to read: short guides, in order, that you actually finish.
You’re not the problem.
- The info exists. It’s just unreadable.
- Nobody ever showed you.
- So we give up.
What we take on
Starting your own business and sending your first invoice. Understanding your work-study contract and what it gives you access to. Finding a place to live, putting together an application, landing a guarantor. Filing your first tax return. Keeping a budget that survives past the 25th. And knowing where to go when a question needs someone face to face.
This isn’t an app for claiming benefits. It’s an app so you never get stuck on a form again.
Benefits are part of it: when you’re entitled to them, you claim them, and we explain how. But we measure our work by what you’re able to do afterwards.
A linear game. That’s the whole trick.
- 1
Pick your guide
Work-study, micro-business, taxes, housing.
- 2
One step at a time
Only one step open on screen. You read, you do it, the next one opens.
- 3
You level up
Reading a step earns 20 XP. Actually doing it earns 80.
The gap between reading and doing is deliberately steep: you learn by acting. Nothing is stored — XP is recalculated from what you’ve done, so no total can drift.
Progression
Six levels. The last one is no longer needing us.
- 1 0 XP
First step
You’ve opened the file. That’s already more than most people do.
- 2 100 XP
Bearings
You know where to look and who to talk to.
- 3 250 XP
Momentum
Procedures follow one another without you even thinking about it.
- 4 450 XP
Cruising speed
Hardly anything catches you off guard anymore.
- 5 700 XP
Steady course
You handle your paperwork better than people who get paid to do it.
- 6 1000 XP
Independence
You don’t need us anymore. That was the whole point.
Where we stand
Totals only, accounts and visitors combined. No names ever come out of them.
Our commitments
- We don’t make a cent off you. No ads, no product placement, no commissions, no reselling of data.
- We explain, we don’t advise. We’re neither lawyers nor tax advisers: we cite the official source and point you to the right person to talk to.
- Every figure comes with its source and date. You see where a ceiling comes from, when we checked it on the official site, and the link to check it yourself.
- No account required. Every guide can be read and followed without an account. An account just lets you pick up your progress elsewhere, and take part in the Feed.
- We ask for the bare minimum. Your first name, your school and your situation if you want guides tailored to you. Nothing else, and above all nothing banking-related.
