Terms of Use (CGU)

Version awaiting approval by the association’s board. It may still change before the official launch.
Purpose
FoundHow is a free information service published by the association FoundHow, a non-profit association under the French law of 1901 (association loi 1901) with its registered office in Montpellier. It offers step-by-step guides on the administrative and financial procedures young people have to deal with (financial aid, work-study, taxes, micro-enterprise…), a calendar of useful events and a news feed.
The site explains and points you in the right direction. It never provides personalised legal, tax or financial advice, and it does not replace either a public authority or a professional.
Access to the service
Everything can be read and done without an account. An account, which is optional, is only used to pick up your progress from another device and to take part in the feed. You must be at least 15 to create an account; below that age, the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required.
User account
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. The situation you declare (student, work-study, freelancer…) is only used to suggest the right guides: you can change it at any time. You can delete your account whenever you like from your account, which erases your data and your contributions.
Contributions to the feed
Comments, reactions and photos posted on the feed are public. By posting, you undertake not to put online anything unlawful, insulting, discriminatory or false, or anything that reveals personal data (yours or someone else’s). You remain the owner of what you post and you allow the association to display it on the site.
Any content can be reported from the site. The association may remove, without prior notice, any content that breaks these rules, and suspend an account in case of repeat offences.
Moderation of the feed
The feed is moderated by authorised members of the association. The following are removed, in particular:
- insulting, hateful, discriminatory or harassing comments;
- personal data: phone number, address, social security number, bank details, screenshots of official documents — yours as well as other people’s;
- any request for money, bank details or login credentials, and any paid offer of “help” with a free procedure: this is the most common type of scam targeting students;
- advertising, solicitation and affiliate links;
- information presented as official that is false or misleading, about an aid, an amount or a deadline.
A reported item is reviewed by a moderator, who either leaves it or removes it. Removal may take place without prior notice. In case of repeated breaches, or of a serious breach such as an attempted scam, the account may be suspended or deleted.
If you think one of your posts was removed by mistake, write to assosmoma2026@gmail.com: the decision will be reviewed by a different member from the one who made it.
Limits of liability
The amounts, thresholds and dates shown in the guides are regulatory figures taken from official sources, with their verification date. They may change: check them with the cited source before making any decision. The association cannot be held liable for the consequences of a procedure started on the basis of the information on the site, nor for any temporary unavailability of the service.
Links to third-party sites (public authorities, event organisers) are provided for information only; the association does not control their content.
Intellectual property
The content of the site belongs to the association and may be freely shared for non-commercial purposes, with a link to the original page. See the legal notice (mentions légales).
Changes to these Terms of Use (CGU)
These terms may change. The date of the last update appears at the bottom of the page, and important changes are announced on the feed. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new version.
Applicable law: French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution is sought first by writing to assosmoma2026@gmail.com; failing that, the competent courts are those of Montpellier, subject to the rules that allow you, if you are acting as a consumer, to bring the case before the court of your place of residence.
